NOI Weddings.com is run by Sister Hafeezah Muhammad, who is known for her dedication to organizing events for singles of all ages. “This year we are trying to beat the success of the First Annual Singles 40sis_hafeeza.jpg Plus event that took place in 2008. We are happy to say that eight marriages have taken place as a result of that event. This year’s theme is Dinner, Dance, Dialogue, and Devotion. New Orleans, La – During one of his many address to the members of the Nation of Islam, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan encouraged all who had not completed high school to work toward obtaining their Graduate Equivalent Diploma and more. On May 15, 2010 a member of Muhammad Mosque did just that. gradu.jpg

Dressed in his red cap and gown, with the trademark Fruit of Islam bowtie Bother Calvin X walked across the stage to receive his GED certificate. The smile on Brother Calvin’s face showed the joy he felt over his recent accomplishment. “I was excited to have finally resolved this issue after trying several times before. This time the difference was that I did it for myself. I had personal goals I wanted to accomplish. This helped me to be more focus,” stated Brother Calvin.

In addition to being motivated by personal goals, Brother Calvin said there were also some special people in his life he wanted to be an example for. “Desiring to be a positive example to my children also motivated me. I did not just want to be on their backs about education while at the same time not having completed my own. They were excited to see me walk across the stage. In their eyes there is nothing I cannot do,” continued Brother Calvin, who dropped out of school in 1981.

Brother Calvin is not stopping in his educational pursuit. He has already enrolled at Southern University of New Orleans for the upcoming Fall semester. He will be majoring in Sociology.
